We make maths make sense - for real, lasting change.

Maths that builds futures and a country.
Founded in 2008, OLICO Maths Education is a leading maths education NGO in South Africa, committed to solving the country’s maths crisis. We support learners from low-income communities with structured, research-backed, and scalable after school maths help.
We believe maths education in South Africa should open doors – not close them. That’s why our programmes are designed to build skills, unlock opportunities, and drive long-term change.
From play-based maths learning in primary school to high school maths help that blends digital learning and in-person tutoring, OLICO bridges learning backlogs, builds confidence, and boosts results.
Meet the people who care deeply
about what the numbers mean.
Led by some of South Africa’s most experienced voices in maths education research, OLICO’s team brings together specialists in teaching, edtech, STEM education in South Africa, and community development.
We’re educators, analysts, developers, researchers – and many of us were once OLICO learners ourselves. Today, we design and deliver transformative maths support that actually works in the South African context.
