WhyComputer literacy is a stepping-stone towards further study and/or employment opportunities. 94% of students trained by our co-operative partners are using computers for the first-time. Post-school youth from under-resourced communities face the additional burden of expensive computer literacy courses from mainstream providers. What we doOur community-based co-operative partners provide affordable, accessible, high-quality computer literacy training. The computer school co-operative runs courses for 1500 students every year in 5 communities. Courses cover end-user computer skills and the Microsoft Office package. Details available on the co-operative business website. How we measureWe measure number of students trained and number accessing quality post-training opportunities. We partner with LGIT Smart Solutions, an ISSET-Seta training provider and Gold-Certified Microsoft partner. LGIT take the top performing students at each quarterly graduation for advanced training. Winner of the Microsoft Social Partner of the Year Award.
